Kongregate is looking for a versatile and experienced engineer. As the Senior Software Engineer, you will be working with a team of developers in a specific software project, be responsible for building new websites as well as supporting existing websites. You will provide technical guidance based on the strategy, philosophy, priorities and architecture set by the Director of Engineering. This position also collaborates with Producers, Product Manager, Project Managers and other team members on defining what is necessary to develop the desired products and solutions. Local employees to our Santiago office may be encouraged to come in for meetings and events, with the option to use the office full time if you'd like.

Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities:

• Develop and write well-designed, stable code using Node.js, Ruby on Rails, React, Solidity, and similar
• Review work done by the technical team using mechanisms such as code reviews, software verification plans, and quality assurance procedures.
• Works with Producers and Project Managers to design, estimate, plan and delegate engineering work plans.
• Contribute to planning and resource scheduling for the engineering team against project deadlines.

Senior Software Engineer Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience developing software applications for web and/or mobile.
• Experience with leading web development - React, NodeJS/NextJS, Ruby on Rails preferred.
• Interest or experience in Solidity programming language.
• Experience working with agile methodologies.
• Able to read and understand project specifications.
• An interest in bringing blockchain technology to video games.
• Previous game development experience is a bonus.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related degree required or equivalent work experience
