Please review the following job description:

Build and lead a new Truist Foundry team responsible for building web3 / blockchain technology solutions. Jumpstart development with hands-on, in-depth direction of technical architecture and delivery. Maintain a focus on meeting business needs and satisfying risk and operational requirements of the organization.

This role has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews. Assistance with direct recruiting of engineering talent is often required.

Act as an Agile champion. Responsible for oversight of software engineering and unit, functional and integration testing. Ensure developed code is in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner, and oversee knowledge transfer to production support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Build and lead a new Truist Foundry team responsible for building web3 / blockchain technology solutions. Jumpstart development with hands-on, in-depth direction of technical architecture and delivery.

2. Maintain a focus on meeting business needs and satisfying risk and operational requirements of the organization.

3. This role has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

4. Assistance with direct recruiting of engineering talent is often required.

5. Direct the engineering and deployment of significant delivery projects in accordance with specified technical requirements, schedules and budgets, including Agile methodologies.

6. Oversee the planning, design, engineering, testing and deployment of application projects
7. Develop departmental plans, including business, financial, production and/or organizational priorities based on IT and focuses on long-term operations planning and performance, and broader business objectives and priorities.
8. Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems.
9. Impact results by supporting the funding of projects, products, services, and/or technologies.
10. Maintain appropriate Risk Profile through owning the first line of Risk defense, proactively identifying risks, and implementing the necessary mitigations where warranted. Partner effectively with 2nd line of defense, Auditor, and regulators to ensure Risk is identified and mitigated appropriately.
11. May play lead role or technical consultant role in large or complex projects or initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor degree and equivalent education and experience, which could include any combination of eight years of experience in IT software engineering, five years' relevant business experience (i.e. making technical-related decisions on the business side), five years' experience in project management, and at least two years of management experience

2. Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, competitive environment, regulatory requirements and trends, and IT strategies employed to continually meet the demands of clients and regulators
3. Ability to translate enterprise level strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions
4. Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services
5. Ability to solve unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational problems
6. Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives
7. Experience managing projects with enterprise-wide implications from conception through implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience with recruiting engineering talent and building teams
  • 2+ years experience with directly managing engineering teams
  • 5-8 years experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years experience with blockchain-centric applications, especially with smart contracts (Solidity, Rust, etc.) and safe key management
  • Good attitude / team player - assumes positive intent in technical and non-technical teammates and avoids intellectual vanity
  • Cares about end user - deeply understands the importance of good user experience over an envisioned perfect system model
  • High ownership of user experience - thinks critically while discussing spec & building, ideates on improvements, and self-tests code before others test

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Visual / Audio / Speaking

Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.

Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding

Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.

Availability

Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.

Travel

Up to 50%
