REVOLT Media & TV creates and curates the best in hip-hop culture and engages youth in social conversation - on-air, on-line, and on-demand. This unapologetically hip-hop, multi-platform network offers original and acquired programming for linear and digital platforms as well as live events and activations across the country.

REVOLT is looking for a VP of Engineering to join our team. As VP of Engineering, you'll be responsible for organization building within the engineering teams, provide mentorship to our tech teams, and help build the culture that will drive our team members to do their best work. You'll also partner up with our CTO/SVP of Product on strategic alignment while maintaining engineering efficiency and excellent best practices.

What You'll Do

* Design the management and team structures needed for cross-location engineering teams to operate and scale as effectively as possible
* Work closely with CTO/SVP Product to define technical vision and strategy
* Align engineering efforts with REVOLT's strategic objectives across product development, scaling, security, and reduction of technical debt
* Mentoring, tutoring, and advising junior engineers on software development best practices, making regular code contributions to key codebases
* Ensure REVOLT engineering teams consistently follow best practices across the Software Development Lifecycle
* Developing a culture that enables team members to do their best work. Coach and mentor team members and build in the right mechanisms and incentives needed to develop a high engagement, high retention team
* Be responsible for designing, implementing, training, measuring, and improving engineering processes and practices
* Ensure the team operates as efficiently as possible by rationalizing the tech stack, tracking cloud utilization, spending, etc.
* Identify and report on engineering outcome metrics - e.g., quality, velocity, security, and spend
* Hire team members aligned with REVOLT's vision and values

Who You Are

* 8+ years of engineering experience with D2C Products
* 8+ years working with Enterprise Application Performance Monitoring (CA APM/Dynatrace/DataDog) and enterprise application instrumentation
* 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, including experience with our tech stack
* At least 3+ years of experience as a senior director of engineering, leading multiple engineering teams with a proven track record of success
* Payments, Media, Digital Publishing, Financial Services, or start-up environment experience preferred
* Experience with Smart Contracts/Solidity, NoSQL, Relational Databases, AWS, Web3, Ethereum, or Polygon preferred
* Deep understanding of leading an engineering team through the software development life cycle and the evangelization and use of modern software development practices, with an emphasis on automation and reliability engineering
* Extensive industry experience and production work with the REVOLT tech stack - Node.js, React.js, Native Android, Native IOS, React Native
* Track record of success managing, growing and dealing with enterprise software development teams
* Track record of success dealing with product teams
* Proven experience delivering internally developed solutions to market
* Extensive engineering experience across small and large companies ($1B+) revenue
* Extremely strong fundamentals - problem-solving, communication, and prioritization
* Must be able to travel to key meetings as necessary
* EST time zone location preferred
